In the UK, two-tone airsoft guns are designed to comply with the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (VCRA), allowing individuals to purchase airsoft replicas without needing a specific defence, such as UKARA membership. These guns are painted in bright, non-realistic colours to distinguish them from real firearms.

A two-tone airsoft gun is an imitation firearm with at least 51% of its surface painted in a bright, non-military colour, such as blue, red, green, orange, or pink. This colouring makes it easily distinguishable from a real firearm, exempting it from certain legal restrictions. The remaining portion of the gun can be black or another colour.
- You must be 18 or older to purchase any airsoft gun in the UK.
- To buy a realistic imitation firearm (RIF), you need a valid defence, such as UKARA membership. However, two-tone airsoft guns can be purchased without this defence.
- The bright colour must cover at least 51% of the gun’s surface.
